This sinister and cold martial BM recording is a worthy disc that deserves attention. The EP is dominated by the title track which has an icy and numbing feel in the keyboards, constantly buzzing guitar chainsaws and very deep and gravelly vocals treated with reverb. Listen to this track long enough and you enter a deep, deep winter underground trance state where ice never melts and chilling blizzards roar on and on forever and where, when I reach my use-by date, will meet the Great Grimm One Himself who will sit in judgement on my many misdeeds and pronounce my eternal punishment in severe tones reminiscent of the vocals.
The two minor tracks are more atmospheric and verge on industrial / classical: "Hyperborean Ascention" (sic) is at once stern and militaristic yet oddly soothing and beautiful. The recording's theme deals with the aftermath of war and slaughter and the destruction of the old world order based on Judeo-Christian-Islamic values, to be followed by the rule of the Hyperboreans / Ubermenschen who create a new morality and set of values on which a new civilisation arises. - The Metal Archives
