Nargaroth seems to be somewhat infamous in the black metal scene. With the infamous “Black Metal Ist Krieg” and Kanwulf telling other bands to f*ck off, “Jahreszeiten” seems to be a rather mature effort on the band’s part. With a legacy of hateful and misanthropic black metal behind them, this album definitely is a departure from their typical fare. But don’t get me wrong, there is definitely some frostbitten metal to be had here. “Jahreszeiten” is the German word for “seasons”; Nargaroth uses this base to explore different soundscapes throughout the album. - Metal Underground
